Like many fans, I am deeply concerned about the future of Derby County Football Club.
I wan to reassure residents of Derby North that I continue to monitor the current situation and you have my assurance that I will do whatever I can support the club as Derby MP.
I have written to Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and have met with EFL to discuss the issue. I have also been in correspondence with the Minister for Sport, Heritage and Tourism.
On Friday, details emerged and following discussion between the club's administrators and the EFL that were extremely concerning and would appear to significantly complicate the process of securing a new owner and to demonstrate financial viability by February the 1st.
I will be seeking agreement with stakeholders for an urgent meeting to be held with EFL to assist in anyway to help secure Derby County's future.
