There are currently flood alerts in place in parts of Derby North, including Little Chester and parts of Darley Abbey. This is due to a high level of rainfall predicted for the next 36 hours, with some of it having already fallen overnight.
River levels in Derby are forecast to rise, and to stay high until at least Friday. On current projections, low-level agricultural land and roads are at risk of flooding, but homes and businesses are not presently forecast to be flooded; This situation may change.
While most of us are already staying at home and following lockdown guidance, for when you are out of the house, be sure to check your routes first, especially if travelling into possible areas of flooding and make sure you have a mobile phone in case you get into any difficulty and need to call for help.
If the situation changes, I'll make sure to provide another update, and you can find out more at https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/…/034WAF409
