Last week, I wrote to all Derby North secondary schools to make them aware of an educational opportunity provided by Sutton Trust Summer Schools to help get more young people from less advantageous backgrounds into some of our country's top universities.
This educational opportunity includes week-long programmes with leading universities and an Apprenticeship Summer School with employers and current apprentices.
I know this last year has been difficult for pupils here in Derby and across the country, and I hope as many students as possible will look to take up opportunities like these, and other opportunities from other providers.
